What is your favorite thing about your freelance/self-employment career?

My absolute favorite thing about my freelance career is that I have the freedom to work the brands that I truly believe in. I love this because this creates a partnership between myself and my client. We're drawn together by one common goal: to get life-changing health and medical content in front of those who need it most.

What is the biggest obstacle you've overcome in your freelance/self-employment career?

The biggest hurdle I've overcome is learning to produce content regularly. A while ago, when I was working a 9-5 job, I started a personal blog. But I didn't contribute to it regularly because of the time and energy it took to work my full-time job. Now that I'm a freelancer, I've learned how to adjust my daily schedule and practice time-management to produce regular content for my professional website, social media sites, and my personal blog as well.

What one piece of advice would you give an aspiring freelancer or small business owner?

Without hesitation, I'd encourage an aspiring freelance or small business owner to dive in before they feel ready. I decided I wanted to start a writing business in December, but it took me four whole months to actually start it. I was stalling by researching because I didn't feel ready. In truth, I don't think anyone really ever is; you're just as ready as you'll ever be. And that's okay because you'll learn and grow along the way.

Know for sure it's exactly what you want to do. You can always pivot and take a different path, but give the freelance life a solid try and have courage in yourself that you can succeed.

What is your favorite thing about your freelance/self-employment career?

Flexibility! I love having the freedom to work late when I'm vibing on a project without having to worry about the traditional clocking in & out.

You can do it! We are all here to support each other. No one wants to see you succeed more than this community and we are so lucky to have one another to lean on when are having doubts and learn from when we're feeling inspired!
